Comedy In Charleston
The Woolfe Street Playhouse presents a night of comedy featuring New Orleans comedian Matt Owens, with New York City comedian Paul Hooper, and local comedian Patrick Arnheim. Doors open at 7pm, and the show will take place at 8pm on Tuesday, Sept 26 the Woolfe Street Playhouse, located at 34 Woolfe Street. This show is open to ages 18 and up. Tickets are $15 in advance and at the door. Advance tickets are available online at http://comedyatthewoolfe.bpt.me.

In November of 2014, comedian Matt Owens was personally selected to open for Louis CK for two sold out shows at New Orleans historic Joy Theater. He was featured at Hell Yes Fest in 2014, 2015, and 2016. He has performed in venues all over New York City. Matt has opened for Hannibal Buress, Mark Normand, Dave Stone, and Louis Katz and has shared the stage with Bill Burr and Darrell Hammond at the House of Blues. Matt was the headliner and co-producer for The Jay Thomas Show on Sirius XM radio. He has starred in the films Pensacola Prophet (2017), and Mercy, to be released in 2018.

After receiving an acting scholarship, Matt studied Theatre at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. Matt performs stand-up regularly in New Orleans (House of Blues, Howlin Wolf) and throughout the Southeast. He has his own monthly show at The Joy Theater and is the producer of Stand-Up Nola.  In 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 he organized and headlined a New Orleans Comedy Road Tour boasting sold out shows throughout the Southeast.

Patrick Arnheim is a four year Charleston native, by way of New Jersey. He is a Village Rep Ensemble Member. A graduate of Broadway's Circle in the Square Theater School, he has appeared in over thirty national commercials, co-starred on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and appeared in the film, Trophy Kids. He has appeared as a standup at New York City's former Ella club @ Studio A. He will be playing Joseph "John" Merrick in The Elephant Man at the Threshold Theater in November of this year.

An only child with OCD, Paul Hooper channels his dysfunction into a cathartic harangue. That's a real flowery and obnoxious way of saying he complains in a funny way. This native of Charlotte, N.C. now residing in New York City has been featured on Gotham Comedy Live, Red Eye with Tom Shillue on Fox, at the HBO Comedy Festival in Vegas, Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Oregon, the Boston Comedy Festival, Michael Moore and Jeff Garlins Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, the Vancouver Comedy Fest. He was a finalist in the 30th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition. Paul has performed in 42 states and ten countries, including doing two armed forces tours. His debut solo album, Tense and Uncomfortable, is available on Stand Up! Records and iTunes.
